OUR STORY
Unfortunately, our story, our beginning is not one we wanted to start from or one anyone wants to hear, but a beginning we hope will bring communities across South Carolina together every year in unity and in memory of our fallen officers.
On October 20th, 2020 it was just another day of serving and protecting the great community of Greenville when a suspect attempted to flee from a traffic stop on I-85 and White Horse Rd. As deputies attempted to make an arrest, he began to struggle with them. During the struggle Sergeant Jumper arrived on the scene as back up. The subject was able to free himself and obtain access to his vehicle where he accelerated into heavy interstate traffic and collided with a tractor trailer. Sgt. Conley Jumper was involved in the accident becoming trapped between the suspect vehicle and the semi which he suffered fatal injuries.
Such a tragic loss brought many together within the car community in a show of support. The citizens of Greenville County rallied around Sgt. Conley Jumpers loved ones, friends and his law enforcement family, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
In honor of Sgt. Conley Jumper and all other officers killed in the line of duty, Memory Blues was born.
Memory Blues provides a community gathering for those to honor our fallen officers while participating in a fundraiser on a level to include everyone. We host a car show event which includes raffle donations from upstate local business owners. All fundraisers are approved by and in coordination with the sheriff’s department that it pertains too. All proceeds from fundraisers are gifted to the family the day of the event. In the absence of the family all proceeds will be given to the police department for delivery.
